It is one of the fastest growing companies in the worldwide homewares market.

Client’s Need

Carter Murray were retained to find Joseph Joseph their Global Marketing Director responsible for defining the business' marketing and digital strategy. In order to thrive within the ambitious business, the individual would need the ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial and rapidly growing business culture. Everyone is hands on, open minded and creative. The search for the Director – a new role – reflected the rapid expansion of Joseph Joseph’s range and the growth of its global sales.

Based at Joseph Joseph’s London HQ the successful candidate would create and execute the global marketing strategy and also build and lead the marketing team to deliver it. This new role would report directly to, Joseph Joseph’s co-founder and Managing Director and will also work closely with his brother, the Creative Director.

Our Solution

One of the challenges of the search was identifying individuals who had sufficient strategic and senior leadership experience, but who could still play a hands-on role in the delivery of strategy in this entrepreneurial business. Carter Murray invested considerable time to ensure that all stakeholders agreed with the role and person specifications. The search was incredibly extensive, looking into all major Consumer Goods and FMCG organisations, but highlighting candidates who have spent time in more nimble organisations

The Results

Carter Murray appointed the client's first choice of candidate, who was a perfect cultural fit for the organisation. This individual has been able to successfully impart their ideas to the client’s organisation, and revolutionised the business’ approach to marketing.
