Key Role Responsibilities

  • Own, develop and implement the internal comms strategy and activities that drive a strong corporate narrative, build engagement with the vision and values, and support key functional priorities, working in partnership with all parts of the business
  • Own and deliver the business-wide internal communications calendar, delivering on the company's overall communications objectives, as well as functional priorities
  • Work with the CEO, executive team, directors and functional leads to design effective communications strategies and campaigns, advising on the best mix of communications channels to deliver key messaging across the business
  • Work with Director of Corporate Affairs & Proposition and HRD to create and deliver an annual calendar of key internal communications moments and events, supported by underlying 'always on' channels. Gain buy-in from ExCo set KPIs and measure effectiveness. Set budgets and evolve accordingly to ensure effective and efficient delivery
  • Liaise with executive and functional leadership teams to advise on internal comms activity for key moments
  • Support executive team communications, creating content, including scriptwriting, video and virtual event creation, and presentations that build engagement with this team
  • Ensure internal communications channels continue to be fit for purpose through robust measurement, and assess/develop as needed, sharing learnings, and implementing continuous improvement across the business
  • Work closely with department and operations leads to identify and create effective comms plans to support key messages and campaigns that drive the right behaviours and business outcomes
  • Oversee content planning and intranet content to ensure alignment with the brand proposition, company vision and values, and internal campaigns
  • Manage and support the development of internal comms executive
  • Plan and deliver virtual events for leadership messaging and employee awards
  • Design, plan and deliver internal annual events, both virtual and in person, including annual conference, annual regional roadshows and recognition events
  • Continually support communication and adoption of company vision, rocks and values
  • Manage transformation and integration comms as required

About You

Knowledge & Qualifications

  • Relevant degree or equivalent qualification
  • Proven experience in successfully developing and implementing internal communications strategies and activities, with a knowledge of a wide range of relevant tools
  • Experience driving cultural change and adoption of company vision and values

  • Demonstrable, significant experience working in an internal communications role
  • Strong collaborator, able to effectively partner with all parts of the business
  • Strong writer, able to write compelling and engaging articles and messaging
  • Strong stakeholder analysis and management skills
  • Highly organised with strong planning skills
  • Able to manage multiple projects to tight deadlines
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong understanding of intranet platform (Yardi)

Desirable

  • Creative with the ability to edit or create digital content
  • Experience of using broadcasting software
  • Understanding of how to use Microsoft Teams as a broadcasting tool
  • Understanding of Yammer as an internal social tool
